Recently, I embarked on a transformative journey that led to a significant weight loss of 30 pounds in a short amount of time. However, along with the weight loss came an unexpected challenge—I lost half of my hair. As someone who’s never been one for makeup, my hair has always been my statement piece. So, when I was diagnosed with androgenic alopecia, it hit me hard.
I made the difficult decision to cut off my long hair and started trying various drugs and hair serums. I believe that at some point, most of us experience hair loss, but facing it head-on was still daunting. Thankfully, I’ve started to see my hair coming back, and I feel lucky that I haven’t lost it all, and that it’s still relatively thick.
Throughout this journey, I’ve realized the importance of feeling and looking our best, irrespective of societal standards. Whether it’s about our weight, our skin, or our hair, no one should make us feel less than what we are. I’m passionate about helping other women feel beautiful in their own skin. While I may not be a makeup wearer, I’ve become somewhat of a skincare nut, trying a bit of everything.
If anyone needs advice or just wants to share their journey, I’m here. Let’s support each other in feeling naturally beautiful, with maybe just a little help from skincare and some good hair days!
